The Ukrainian poetess Nemezida Soul hold a literary evening
A literary evening dedicated to the creativity of Russian classics Anna Akhmatova, Marina Tsvetaeva and Sinaida Hippius was hold in Kiev Vysotsky gallery on Sunday, November 20. The poems were read by the Ukrainian poetess Nemezida Soul. This evening became the first one in the project about well-known women-writers.
At the literary evening Nemezida read romantic poems by the Russian writer Anna Akhmatova such as «I Lost My Mind, My Quaint Boy…», «My Husband Was Strapping me …», «The Hands, clasped under the black voile…», «I have come here like idle» and «To the Muse».
Also were read the works by Sinaida Hippisus «To A. Blok», «Without condonation», «She’s All That», «Two Sonnets», «The Sunset» and works by the Russian poetess and prosaist Marina Tsvetaeva: » The Night In My Big City», «I Set The Table For Six…», «The Comedian» and «Once Oh Lovely Creature…».

A short foray was hold into the life history and interpersonal relations of these brilliant women.
«At the beginning Anna idolized Hippius, but during one literary evening she and her husband Nikolay Gumilyov fell out with the poetry «in-crowd» of Hippius because of her sharp criticism towards one poem by Gumilyov», — says Nemezida.
She recalled also that poetesses presented various literary movements.
«Hippius was a symbolist that’s why every word of her poems had a profound sense. Anna Akhmatova presented another movement according to which, everything should be described as it is, without any subtext, Marina Tsvetaeva belonged to neither first nor the last and because of that she wasn’t accepted by the literary group in St.Petersburg», — keeps talking the Ukrainian poetess.
By the way, Nemezida prefers rather works by Hippius and Tsvetaeva.
«I like Akhmatove a little less, because of her love lyrics as I like more rather strong verses», — shares Nemezida with listeners.
The Ukrainian poetess also read some poems from her own repertoire:»Make The Acquaintance», «Load Up With The Oxygen» and «My evening 2014».
But still there were some slight imperfections on the literary evening.
First of all, Nemezida was reading all the time at sigh haltingly. There were no artistic framing and maybe because of that she didn’t manage to transfuse feeling, put behind the lines of the poems.
Secondly, music background leaves much to be desired.
As far as it was the first concert of this literary project, we hope that the next performances will be arranged better in the light of the first mistakes and tryouts.
According to the words of the curator, this evening was the last before a long lingering break. The next literary evening will take place in two months, but completely in the new format.
Earlier, as Musartic reported, the musical and literary evening about Paris of the 20s by Vanya Jakimov took place in Kiev. Also in Odessa a famous Moscow poetess Ah Astahova performed her poems with the accompaniment.
